Industry–academia Collaboration
CYCU executes the Global Research and Industry Alliance Project/Scientific Research Industrialization Platform Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote industry-academia collaboration, transfer technology and talent training, form close connections with the industry, and respond to the industry’s and society’s needs. Meanwhile, through the two major research centers the “R&D Center for Membrane Technology” and “R&D Center for Smart Manufacturing”, CYCU hopes to exercise the R&D results perfectly and help in industrial upgrading.

The industry-academia collaboration project has two highlights:
(I) The “SLM Precious Metal Recycling Technology” which the R&D Center for Membrane Technology of CYCU assisted manufacturers to establish may achieve high purity recycled precious metal, and the concentration of precious metal in discharged wastewater may satisfy the semiconductor industry’s needs.
(II) The “Supercritical Fluid Foaming Molding Technology” developed by the R&D Center for Smart Manufacturing satisfies the EU requirements for plastic reduction and environmental protection. It also cooperates with international shoe manufacturers in the form of industry-academia and technology licensing to help manufacturers improve product functionality and move forward toward a sustainable production model.
Industry Consulting
To facilitate sustainable economic development, promote industrial innovation, and increase employment opportunities, CYCU executed the “Industry Park Industrial Counseling Innovation Project” of the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, to help manufacturers in need of technology counseling and inquiries in the Jhongli Industrial Park and Pingzhen Industrial Park. CYCU implemented its abundant R&D, technology, and talent resources dedicated to helping construct a long-term industry-academia collaboration in the industrial parks to solicit for government resources, help in industrial upgrading, and strengthen industrial competitiveness.
